NetUP DVB to IP Gateway 8x
Receive 8 DVB transponders with a 1U device
The NetUP DVB to IP gateway 8x is a universal solution for receiving, decoding, and multicast or unicast streaming of satellite, terrestrial, and cable TV channels. The key advantages of the NetUP DVB to IP Gateway 8x are its high density and compactness - the device can receive and decode 8 transponders/multiplexes being a compact 1U rack-mount server. All 8 DVB inputs and 8 Common Interface (CI) slots are located at the rear panel of the appliance.

Frequently asked questions
How many TV channels can I receive with DVB to IP gateway 8x?
The device can receive 8 DVB transponders (one transponder per DVB input). The total number of TV channels depends on how many of them you have in each transponder. Also, if the TV channels are encrypted, you need to use conditional access modules (CAM, one per DVB input) and subscription smart cards (one per CAM). Professional CAM’s can usually decrypt 8 - 12 TV channels. So, if you receive and decrypt 10 TV channels with each DVB input, then you totally have 80 TV channels.
Can DVB to IP gateway 8x transcode the streams?
DVB to IP gateway 8x outputs the streams with the same parameters as on satellite (resolution, frame rate, bit rate). If you require to compress/transcode the streams then you need to use transcoding equipment, for example, the NetUP Transcoder Server 8x
Is CI+ supported?
CI+ is not supported. The output stream of CI+ CAM is encrypted and can not be used for streaming to IP set-top boxes.
Can I stream over the Internet with this device?
Besides UDP multicast that can be only used in a LAN, DVB to IP gateway 8x supports TS over HTTP and HLS protocols. But the bit rate of the DVB streams is too high for streaming over the Internet. In order to decrease the bit rate you can use transcoding equipment, e.g., the NetUP Transcoder Server 8x.
Can I receive analog TV channels with this device?
Analog A/V signal can be received with another device: NetUP MPEG-2 Encoder 8x
