The NetUP Transcoder is a professional encoding and transcoding solution designed for usage in IPTV and Internet TV headends. The device is implemented as a PCI-e x1 card with 2 HDMI and 2 HD-SDI or 4 RCA/RF inputs. It can simultaneously encode 2 HD or 4 SD streams or transcode 2 HD or 2 SD streams from MPEG-2 to H.264 or vice versa.
H.264 is a highly efficient codec that allows to compress video streams for transmission over networks with a limited bandwidth at the same time saving high quality. This is useful, e.g., in case of IPTV over ADSL and wireless networks and for Internet TV solutions, especially when HD video streams are to be transmitted.
Performance:
4 SD or 2 HD channels simultaneously for transcoding H.264->MPEG-2 or H.264->H.264
